Coming Soon, to an Interweb Near You…

Hi there. Just wanted to make a little text entry about last night. I don’t know how often I’ll actually post words in this tumblelog, but I might as well do it at least once.

Last night I shot one of my top 3 favorite bands of all time, Mindless Self Indulgence. As usual, they put on an incredible show. They are one of the most amazing bands to photograph. So dynamic and so fun. I loved shooting them… except for what happened in the photo pit.

During Mastermind (the second of the 3 MSI songs I was allowed to shoot in the pit), my 40D Error 99’d me. In other words- it stopped working, and would not start to again. I tried everything I could, but it would not shoot. Luckily, I was smart enough to bring along a second body for my 85mm lens. Unluckily, I took the wrong battery for it, the uncharged one. I shot the rest of the show on low battery. I also shot some film for it, which I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

I also took some posed shots post show of the bands, however they’re all taken on film. I realized AFTER the show that I probably should’ve taken some digital too… oh well.
Too late.

The other bands were fun to shoot too- Tub Ring was just as awesome as I remembered them opening for Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Leathermouth was a totally new band for me, and while I can’t say I truly experienced their music (I can barely remember how any of their songs go since it was so chaotic in the pit) I really enjoyed their show. The singer came into the pit and it was awesome.Very interesting band.

Stay tuned for images- they look awesome despite the crappy circumstances of the MSI set.
